Eruption of Consciousness
DREAM: I am in a huge old church like the ones Sue and I often visited on our trip to Europe this summer. I am looking up at the stained glass windows and the walls start to fall away. I see a giant man standing outside with a huge drill and chainsaw. He is cutting apart the church. I stand in awe as the walls begin to collapse. As they do the light and color from the windows stay and grow to enclose the space where the walls had stood. At the same time the floor begins to bust open and whatever had been below begins to erupt through the floor.
We all have edifices of one type or another built on top of the truth of who we are. We have all settled in one way or another for being less than living in the fullness of who we are. But this is not a passive process either. It takes an incredible amount of energy to keep our selves unconscious of who we are.
It is a battle to undo what we have built. Yet if we are willing to face our fears then our dreams will give us what we need to win that battle. Each and every night we are given the step that we need to take. Sometimes those steps are as simple as not running where we have always run and sometimes the step will literally feel like stepping off a cliff.
Either way ultimately we just need to get out our own way. If we are willing to let our edifices be taken apart brick by brick then we will all have the chance to live in the miracle of what is left when we let the walls come tumbling down, when we let this consciousness come into this world through us.
